With just over a month to go until the final episode of the Star Wars saga hits the big screen, more and more collaborations are hitting the shelves ahead of the 20 December release. Having launched its Alphaedge 4D sneaker a few months back, along with the latest technology, adidas Originals has expanded the range with the introduction of the Star Wars X adidas Alphaedge 4D sneaker.
The Alphaedge 4D turns to the dark side, paying homage to the Empire’s ultimate weapon in the form of the Death Star. It features a black Primeknit upper with an etching of the space station on the outer lateral side, extending to the eye stays of the sneaker.
In addition to this, the adidas signage on the heel also features the same etchings, with the text, “THE POWER OF THE DARK SIDE”, stitched onto the heel tab on the rear. The Forgefibre construction of the upper also makes it extremely breathable.
The sneaker is built upon the Alphaedge technology, which has a geometric lattice structure that has been 3D-printed using Carbon Digital Light Synthesis technology, offering enhanced stability, support and cushioning, all at the same time.
The Star Wars X adidas Alphaedge 4D Death Star sneaker is set to drop on 21 November 2019 in the US for $300 at selected retailers. However, there’s no indication as yet whether the silhouette will make its way to the South African market.
