A few weeks ago we featured a teaser about the latest introduction in running technology as part of the PARLEY initiative. The much-anticipated release is finally official in South Africa, with adidas launching the ALPHAEDGE 4D PARLEY sneakers.
The ALPHAEDGE 4D Parley for the Oceans features the latest in running technology, the adidas 4D midsole. The technology is a sports-inspired geometric lattice structure, which is printed with light and oxygen using Carbon Digital Light Synthesis™, or DLSTM. The lattice structure allows for better pressure absorption from any angle, while propelling the foot forward and supporting movement where needed. The upper is made of a super-lightweight material which encases the foot in a seamless sock-like fit. This provides additional support and comfort, much-needed during sharp turns and lateral movements.
Having partnered with Continental a few years back, the sneaker features the Continental rubber outsole, bringing with it 140 years of tire technology and research. The rubber is engineered for better traction zones to supper deeper cuts and faster acceleration, irrespective of terrain or weather. Another of the partnerships adidas boasts is that with plastic recycling company, Parley. The sneaker features the Ocean Plastic® technology, boasting a silhouette made from recycled plastic trash collection from remote beaches and coastal communities.
The adidas ALPHAEDGE 4D PARLEY is currently available on adidas online and retails for R5,999.
