Adidas Crazy Hollywood Nights

2023 is proving to be an exciting year for sneaker fans. Many older retro designs are being reproduced commercially for the first time in many years. All-Star Weekend in 2023 brought a lot of excitement for adidas fans as it announced that adidas would continue the Crazy series in 2023, bringing back some of their most loved silhouettes with some modern touches. We could be getting a new adidas Crazy 1 “Hollywood Nights” as soon as the 15th of April.

Coming back with accents made after the Los Angeles Lakers with yellow and purple, the latest re-issue of the Crazy series is the Crazy 1 “Hollywood Nights”. The yellow of the sneakers can be found on the toes, the midsection of the midsole and a small peek on the heel. The purple makes up the lace stays, the outsole, the rest of the heel (featuring the adidas logo and name), and the heel tab merging with the lining.

Matching the Lakers’ Hollywood Nights alternate uniforms from the past, the rest of the upper and the midsole is entirely blacked out, including the laces of the sneakers and the tongue label. This design choice pays homage to the Los Angeles Lakers and makes all the coloured details of the sneaker pop, really bringing them to life.

The construction and material of the sneakers are consistent with recent Crazy 1 drops, with the upper being made of the signature more rigid material that the Crazy silhouette is known for and featuring the adidas triple stripes.

These sneakers are perfect for those sneaker fans who prefer the originals, as it stays loyal to the Crazy design and silhouette while adding a few almost imperceptible modern touches to make sure that the sneakers remain relevant in the fashion world.

Bringing Crazy Back

Adidas has jumped on the re-issue bandwagon, as many sneaker companies are returning their classic silhouettes for us to enjoy. These adidas sneakers that are being re-issued have a tasteful nod to past adidas KOBE designs while still bringing the designs into the future with a few modern touches.

These re-issues aren’t limited to “Hollywood Nights”. Many fans were delighted with the announcement that the adidas Crazy IIINFINITY would also return.

Release Date and Price

While sneakers usually drop a little earlier in the EU, these sneakers are dropping on the 14th of April there and have been scheduled for an adidas.com release date on the 15th of April, so those of us not in the EU don’t have to wait for very long.

The sneakers are set to be sold at around $150 at launch (R2,740.13 based on the exchange rate at the time of writing).
