Following a series of redefining silhouettes for the sneakerhead, adidas Originals continues their 2018 momentum with the launch of the all-new sneaker, Deerupt. The sneaker is based on a contemporary take on the adidas heritage, realised in a radically new look.
adidas Originals has created the Deerupt as a minimalist yet unmistakably bold design, drawing on inspirations from the archives of the ’80s, which includes the F-396 Marathon and F-1131 New York silhouettes. The design further draws concepts from different sources, which include urban planning, architecture, and natural phenomena, with the grid remaining as the central design principle.
While the shoe carries street cred in among sneakerheads, a lot of the design elements also remain functional. The collapsible, runner-inspired design includes an ultra-lightweight construction with a knitted upper, which is covered in stretchable netting. The inner of the shoe is created from zoned foam pockets, moulded along the sneaker’s interior lining. The end result of the build guarantees a truly unique benefit – a shoe that conforms to the wearer for the ultimate comfort.
The adidas Originals Deerupt will launch in a hero colourway, Solar Bird, which comprises of two iconic adidas tones, Solar Red and Bluebird. The silhouette is set to drop internationally on 22 March 2018 and will retail at adidas.co.za and various other retailers across the country for R1,899.
