adidas Originals has once again revamped the EQT collection. This season they are translating the iconic 90s distinctive design language into an all-new high-top basketball silhouette and introducing the EQT BASK ADV. The sneaker intersects creativity and quality, reflecting on its history on the courts, while still finding a place on the streets today.
The campaign kicks off with an Originals film, Never Finished | 2018, which features hip-hop artist and self-professed sneakerhead, A$AP Ferg. The film uncovers the evolution of the EQT through the many iterations it has undertaken throughout the ages, revealing the latest addition to the lineup.
The new EQT design features a sculpted look, which is inspired by the inner-boot design of the old-school basketball silhouettes. The EQT Basketball ADV is constructed from a knitted mesh upper, with structural suede. The moulded TPU panels around the heel and forefoot adds additional support, whilst classic EQT elements such as the integrated 3-stripe mark, 3-stripe midsole detailing, and heel embroidery in essential EQT Green all reiterate the classic EQT design. The design strikes a balance between remaining true to its roots, while breaking new ground with its audacious trimmings.
The adidas Originals EQT Basketball ADV follows the ethos – “Function becomes form. Sport becomes style. Integrity remains integrity.”
The EQT BASK ADV is available in Core Black and Grey colourways, codenamed CQ2993 and CQ2995, respectively, at a retail price of R1,899. The sneakers is available at adidas Originals stores, Sportscene, Anatomy, Side Step and online as adidas.co.za.
