After a successful launch and tie-in campaigns back in March for the adidas Originals EQT, the company today extends their range with the release of new colourways and designs.
The journey began in 1991 with an uncompromising promise: pure sports function over trends and form. That’s what makes the range an essential sport silhouette. This is EQT’s anti-glamour approach to footwear and apparel. In this release, adidas Originals pays tribute to the city of Detroit.
Inspired by the 90s aesthetic and minimal colour palette of the original Equipment series, the new range features classic sportswear pieces in mixable colours. For the women’s collection, the colours include white, heather grey and essential EQT green, while the male collection features the same green and deep blue. There are two new silhouettes. The female sneaker iteration of the EQT Racing ADV features a clean aqua colourway with contrasting black accents. The male sneaker offers a new edition of the EQT Support 93/17 model, with a knit textile upper, contrasting mesh quarter panels and tailored embroidery details.
In addition, the range also includes a refined version of the adidas Equipment classic, the EQT Support RF, with two new treatments for both men and women. For the former, the sneaker assumes a classic 90s running material way, featuring a mesh construction with suede panels and welded overlay details. Rendered in a carbon black colourway, it’s an understated approach that brings the classic adidas footwear design to the fore. For the women’s Support RF edition, a slightly altered approach counters a mesh vamp with nubuck panels and roller knit textile on the tongue and quarter.
The new range drops today at adidas Originals stores, adidas.co.za, AREA3, and selected retailers.
