The ZX sneaker has been a true legend as part of the adidas archives for close to 40 years, standing firm as a symbol of progress in the footwear industry. The sneaker has always formed a great blend between technology and street culture. Having started off as a technical running shoe, the ZX lead the way in terms of progression. In 2020, adidas Originals pushes the sneaker into the future with the release of the all-new adidas Originals ZX 2K Boost.
The ZX 2K Boost was designed to encapsulate the ceaseless pursuit of innovation, always representing the timeless nature of the adidas archive. The sneaker is built upon the ZX710 silhouette, with adidas Originals continuing to innovate and evolve through progress.
Having pushed its own technologies to the next level a few weeks ago with the release of the adidas 4D Run 1.0, the ZX 2K Boost continues this momentum pushing both tech and materials. The sneaker fuses the revolutionary thinking of the archived, ZX710, along with new, innovative materials, making it the past, present and future of footwear all rolled into one.
The original ZX710 featured an EVA forefoot with PU heel stabiliser. Fast-forward to 2020 and the ZX 2K Boost has updated the look, merging a full-length coated Boost midsole, with a soft TPU heel. The sneaker still manages to maintain its timeless green and white colourway of the original, along with an engineered mesh upper and stretch mesh tongue. Rounding off the design are the matching green laces and sockliner.
The adidas Originals ZX 2K Boost will be available globally from 29 May 2020. The sneaker will retail for R2,499 online via adidas.co.za as well as select adidas Originals stores across the country.
