Consistency, Consistency, Consistency

Earlier this year, adidas launched the new Solarglide 5 in South Africa. The running shoe brought with it consistency as your daily driver, as you prepared for your next race or reach your personal best goals. It was designed to provide runners with a perfect fit, well keeping it light and offering great support.
There are three main features of the Solarglide 5. This includes Bubble Boost midsole, the Control Platform, as well as the LEP system. Each of these work in tandem to provide the smoothest of running experiences.
The Bubble Boost midsole features hundreds of Boost capsules. These are fused together for a unified feel and ready to explode with energy in each stride. Its Control Platform is a full-top loaded EVA platform, which was designed for smooth transitions. Lastly, the LEP system is an evolution of adidas’ iconic torsion system. With LEP 2.0, which fits between the Bubble Boost and Control Platform, it provides a smooth ride.
With the new range of silhouettes, adidas has expanded the Solarglide 5 to include a total of 13 different colourways. That’s six colourways for men and seven for women.

Solarglide 5 – Designed for the Planet

As part of adidas’ ongoing efforts to reduce its footprint and aim for net-zero carbon and end plastic waste, the Solarglide 5 was designed with the planet in mind.
Its Primeblue upper is crafted from Parley Ocean Plastic. The material consists of yarn, which contains a minimum of 50% Parley Ocean Plastic, produced from plastic waste. This plastic has been intercepted on remote islands, beaches and coastal communities prior to polluting the ocean.
Additionally, the remaining 50% of the construction is made from yarn from recycled polyester.
Inclusivity
As with many of the adidas running range in recent years, the Solarglide 5 is built on a diverse offering. The shoes have been crafted for men and women individually.
This design method from the team ensures that each athlete gets the most suitable option for their requirements when building that momentum with each run.
During its development phase, the team researched a number of key points on the female foot, with a variety of tests. This was to ensure that the women’s Solarglide 5 provided the best support for female runners.
If you’re looking to build consistency while upping your distance or training for that personal best, the adidas Solarglide 5 is the running shoe for you.
The Solarglide 5 is available at adidas concept stores across the country, as well as online at adidas.co.za.
