adidas Originals has officially announced the drop for the adidas Originals | Pharrell | Tennis Hu. But instead of a simple sneaker drop, Hu represents a belief. The name is based on the first syllable of ‘Human’, which aims to bring us together as people by celebrating both our cultural differences and collective power.
Having announced their partnership with Pharrell Williams in last year’s Hu range, which reimagined the NMD range, the latest collaboration seeks to push the brand into new territory with the Tennis Hu, Pharrell’s first signature model. Both the NMD and Tennis Hu pay homage to the past, with colourways based on two of adidas’ most iconic tennis shoes. The white pair with its green detailing pays tribute to Stan Smith, while the yellow lacing and golden heel are hallmarks of the 1970s court classic, the Forest Hill.
The Tennis Hu features adidas‘ latest technology with the breathable and flexible Primeknit. The lightweight EVA midsole has a pronounced waffle structure, while the lacing system is built into the shoe’s body, and the tongue features a suede tab.
The adidas Originals | Pharrell | Tennis Hu will carry a retail price of R3,499 and launches on 6th May 2017. It will be available online as adidas.co.za, Shelflife in JHB and CT, as well as the adidas Originals store in Sandton.
