A few weeks ago, we saw the kickstart of the adidas Originals X BAPE® 20th anniversary celebrations. As the celebrations of the first partnership between adidas Originals and the Japanese brand continue, we’ll see even more releases along the way. For the duo’s latest collab, we see the release of the new adidas X BAPE Campus 80s.

The celebrations also coincide with BAPE’s 30th anniversary since it launched. As a result, the release schedules feature special-edition footwear and apparel collections, which will be released throughout 2023.
For this specific release, the duo has released the Campus 80s BAPE® sneakers. This follows on from the previous drop, which also featured a classic, the Forum Low 84.

The sneaker features the original form of the adidas Campus with the BAPE sneaker influences. This is a mix of the classic touches from the archives and modern streetwear touches. It has a majority brown suede upper with white detailing. The lateral side has the BAPE “STA” logo with the medial side featuring the more classic three stripes approach.
Further detailing for the 30th-anniversary sneaker includes the golden lace dubraes and gold lettering on the lateral sides. There is also debossed lettering on the tongue, while the insoles and rubber outsoles keep their classic aesthetic.

The classic Campus sneaker meets a classic approach to the campaign. It features the visual language of cult Japanese magazines, which pushed both brands to where they are today in the world of art, music and fashion.

Given its special-edition status, the adidas Campus 80s BAPE® is currently only available in select adidas stores around the country. It’s not available online, either.
