For all the sneaker lovers out there, 2024 promises some fascinating Jordan Brand releases. However, let’s not just limit our expectations to collaborations, as the brand’s independent drops demand equal attention. Promptly providing an insight into what’s in store for us, reliable sources hint at some intriguing colourways for next year’s lineup, including the release of the striking Air Jordan 1 High “Metallic Gold”.
Once again, we owe our first glance at the Air Jordan 1 High “Metallic Gold” to @zsneakerheadz. They have created a mockup design of what we can expect from the upcoming colourway. The rendering presents a chic blend of “Black”, “Metallic Gold”, and “Sail” shades, with a strong echo of the Air Jordan 1 Retro “Melo”, launched back in 2014. This “Melo” edition, inspired by NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, sported a similar black and gold theme. Despite the absence of Anthony’s logo in the 2024 design, it is a fabulous alternative for those who missed out on the limited “Melo” release.
In the proposed design, varying shades harmonise to create an arresting contrast. A rich black base is complemented by striking metallic gold highlights throughout the sneaker. The use of black leather on several parts – toe cap, mudguard, eye stays, quarter panels, and collar – lends a refined look to the silhouette. Additionally, the black theme carries over to the tongue label, lining, and the iconic Wings logo on the ankle flap, contributing to the overall seamless aesthetic.
Adding a regal twist to the design are the stunning metallic gold accents. The toes, ankle flap, and heel flaunt these gold details with a distinctive flair. The classic profile Swooshes also bask in this golden glory, creating an attractive contrast against the black framework. Another distinctive branding feature is the “Nike Air” logo on the black tongue label, embellishing the shoe with that extra golden touch.
Finally, rounding off this striking design are the sail midsole and vibrant gold rubber outsole, which harmonise seamlessly with the rest of the sneaker. Polish up the look with sophisticated black laces, and you have a perfect, chic finish.
Thanks to the tasteful and fashionable colour arrangement, this sneaker is undoubtedly a statement piece. Of course, these are just preliminary mockups and may differ slightly in terms of colour precision. However, once again, @zsneakerheads seems confident in the colour blocking depicted in the mockups, so we remain hopeful that this new release will offer us something exceptional.
Unfotunately, the exact release date for the Air Jordan 1 High “Metallic Gold” sneaker remains unknown. The rumour mill, however, suggests this fashionable colourway could be a part of Jordan Brand’s Autumn 2024 lineup. The anticipated price tag is $180 USD, with availability expected on Nike.com and select Jordan retailers. Until then, stay tuned for official images and release updates, and remember to follow us for more sneaker drops and reviews.
