With all the craziness that has been happening at DC and Warner Bros. Discovery in the last year, many fans were relieved when they discovered that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is still on the slate for release and that we can look forward to it coming out in December of 2023. What better way to go and watch the upcoming Aquaman sequel than in an epic pair of custom Nike Air Jordan 1 sneakers inspired by the King of the Sea?
If you have ever wanted a stunning design for a pair of Aquaman-inspired sneakers but didn’t know where to find one, never fear because Brandon Krige at Fortress of Solitude has you covered. These Aquaman-inspired Nike Air Jordan 1 custom sneakers have the perfect elements to represent our beloved Jason Momoa’s DC character, from the colours and the accents to the materials used. Let’s take a detailed look at this stunning custom concept.
Starting from the bottom, the outsole is an ironic aquamarine blue-ish-green that marries the blue and the green of the rest of the sneakers perfectly. The midsole above that is white, contrasting the slightly kelpy colour on the bottom. The white of the midsole is repeated on the plain, perforated toe box that continues up the tongue.
From there, the forefoot panelling is a deep, kelpy green that exclusively makes up the mudguard and matches the laces. From there, blue leather makes up the lower lace stays and most of the lace unit. The stunning blue also makes up the inner lining peeking out of the collar as well as the rim of the tongue that continues to the inner lining.
The entire mid-foot section is dominated by a stunning image of the deep blue sea, with sharks and deep sea fish, with light emerging through. While it gives the idea of the deep blue sea, it is also reminiscent of the scene from Aquaman, where Arthur is being bullied by some kids in an aquarium, and the shark starts slamming against the glass. This is an incredible Easter egg from the first film to enjoy while watching the sequel.
From there, the deep blue panelling has been replaced on the back with a kelpy lighter blue that perfectly matches the oceanic theme. The base underneath the lighter blue panelling is a beautiful gold textured scale material that is excellently reminiscent of Aquaman’s suit.
The Nike Swoosh has been suitably replaced with a stunning metallic gold trident that matches the gold scales, the gold Jumpman branding, and the stunning representation of the symbol of Atlantis near the toe.
These stunning elements all come together beautifully to make a stunning ensemble that perfectly represents Aquaman and could be the perfect Nike Air Jordan 1 sneakers to wear to Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in December.
