ASICS Gel-Sonoma 15-50

The first of the classics revealed in this week’s Archive Weekly (3 October 2022) is the Gel-Sonoma 15-50. In the new Lake Drive and Tarmac colourway, it is a shoe designed for the rugged terrain.
Its style has been derived from the 15-50 cross-country spike, designed for competitive runners. As part of the update, it has been redesigned for the city streets, while being just as comfortable on the off-road trails.
The ASICS Gel-Sonoma 15-50 will drop on 7 October and will be available in-store and online.
Nike Air Max Tail Wind 1

The Nike Air Max and Tail Wind have seen a limited re-release in recent years. It hasn’t been as widespread as the Dunk or original Jordan sneakers. This new sneaker combines both the Air Max and Tailwind histories into a single silhouette.
There are two variants released for the Air Max Tailwind this week. These colourways include the Racer Blue and Black and White variants. It features the classic Air Max cushioning with the technical upper of the Tailwind.
This includes a mesh upper in the two colourways, with flat curved accents along the sides. It also has a reinforced toe and support structures throughout the sneaker. The midsole features the Air bubble approach, in both the cushioning and aesthetic.
The sneaker will be available from 6 October 2022.
New Balance 90/60

The New Balance 90/60 was launched last month on 10 September and received quite a lot of interest. As such, Archive has positioned another set of colourways for the sneaker for an October drop.
This time around, the sneaker has been released in another set of two colourways. It includes the Workwear colourway in an earthy hue, as well as the Indigo colourway as its name suggests.
The New Balance 90/60 collection will be available from Saturday, 8 October.
Nike Air Kukini Water

The Nike Air Kukini Water colourway is easily one of the most recognisable variants to date. The pattern for the colourway resembles that of pool water, providing a visually striking look.
It continues the recent releases for the Kukini sporting a laceless upper. Its pool pattern blends in well with the sneaker’s webbing, which adds to the overall appearance. With over two decades of releases for the sneaker, it is one of the most memorable.
The Nike Air Kukini Water will also be available from 6 October.
Nike Dunk High 1985 Blue Denim

The Nike Dunk has been one of the most released sneakers for the brand in 2022. This time around, it is the High variant that features, a denim finish.
The sneaker is based on the original 1985 release. It has a Blue Denim colourway, which has the aesthetic of washed denim. This means that the blue is ‘washed out’ in contrast to the darker blue stitching. The sneaker is complimented with tumbled leather on the upper. Ageing is further showcased through the laces and tongue, the lining, midsole and outsole through some yellowing techniques.
Another classic collection – available from Archive Weekly (3 October 2022). Will you get your hands on any of this week’s releases?
Other releases this week include:
- Nike Air Force 1 Lover XX
- Nike Air Presto Mid Utility
- New Balance 530

The sneaker range will be releasing from 3 October to 8 October 2022 this week. Be sure to be first in line, as many of the releases may sell out quickly. Each of the sneakers will be available in-store and online at ArchiveStore.co.za.
