With the return of one of its most recognisable Jordan 11 colourways, the Columbia/Legend Blue, and a fresh interpretation of the popular colour scheme on the Air Jordan 1 silhouette, Jordan Brand has been enjoying a “legendary” holiday season. Given the popularity of the hue and the impending 40th celebration of the iconic 1985 silhouette, it seemed inevitable that custom shoe artists would eventually put their own take on the Columbia/Legend Blue Air Jordan 1. And this particular beauty comes from none other than John Trottier of @johnnyskicks_.
A Closer Look At The Design
In contrast to the official Air Jordan 1 “Legend Blue” release from this year (and maybe even its 2014 predecessor), this design directly references the Air Jordan 11 “Columbia,” with a primarily white patent leather upper and an outsole that is done in the same stunning blue hue. Even the Wings and Swoosh logos on the sides are maintained in pure white to keep with the theme of the 11s white patent leather uppers.
Next, a hint of black is added to the collar to resemble the heel tabs and inside lining of the AJ11. Finally, to complete this flawless emulation of the classic design, Legend Blue branding is applied to the tongue.
