Following the hugely successful drop of the Converse x Undercover range, having partnered with Japanese designer Jun Takahashi, Converse has dropped yet another collab. The team have partnered with cult LA underground art collective, Brain Dead. The new range draws inspiration from punk and hardcore music, comics and skate culture for the all-new Converse X Brain Dead collection.

The collection was designed to create disruptive streetwear for the irreverent generation, reimagining Converse Chuck 70 with punchy graphics, iconic logos, as well as mashups of art prints with the brand’s vintage fabrics. These graphics include animal, camo and flag prints. The Brain Dead collection was first established in 2014 and lead by designer and photographer, Kyle Ng.

The collection features elements from the brand, which includes their logo, as well as the caption, “To see and be seen as far as the eye can see”. The lateral of the Chuck 70 will include various prints to create an aesthetic that alternates depending on which angle you’re viewing it from. These prints are spliced between Zebra, Camo, the Star Spangled Banner and leopard prints. The prints are quintessentially screen printed and executed onto vintage organic canvas.

The Converse X Brand Dead collection is already available in retailers, including Shelflife, as well as Converse stores in Sandton, Mall of Africa and Gateway. The Chuck 70 Brain Dead will retail for R1,399.95.
