In May this year, Converse announced their partnership with Miley Cyrus, which was accompanied by their debut collection for the Converse X Miley Cyrus range. In celebration of individuality and fearlessness to stand out in the crowd, the team has dropped their second collection. This bold and confident pack allows fans to combine their unique style with the stand-out product for maximum Miley inspired impact.
The partnership was envisioned to inspire and encourage the feeling of independence and self-empowerment. The drop of the latest range comes ahead of Mark Ronson’s soon-to-be-released single, “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart”, which features Miley. The latest collaboration celebrates Miley’s ongoing evolution, taking fans along for the ride from her first Converse collection to a more provocative place in concept and execution, where fitting in is overrated. The collection showcases a range of classic silhouettes, which feature plenty of brushed velvet, glitter and platform Chucks.
The Chuck Taylor All Star Lift and Platform have become a signature of the Converse x Miley Cyrus look, elevating the classic silhouette, using stacked EVA foam. In this latest collaboration, the silhouette includes a vinyl execution along with a brushed velvet finish, which offers two different, but equally colourful and bold approaches to holiday dressing. Converse’s Star iconography appears on the Patent silhouette in a repeat trend on the foxing tape, whereas as glitter printed foxing tape complements the brushed velvet sneakers to create visual interest through texture. The pack also includes the Chuck Taylor All Star Patent in black and white, for those looking to express themselves with a more everyday sneaker. The colourway features contrasting Star graphics printed on the foxing tape and laces. In addition to this, a brushed velvet upper is also available in black, with a glitter printed foxing.
The latest Converse X Miley Cyrus collaboration dropped last Friday, 30 November 2018 and is currently available at Converse Sandton City, Shelflife and Superbalist. The range will retail from R899.95 – R1099.95.
