A few days ago, Converse welcomed back Tyler, The Creator with the launch of the Converse x GOLF WANG collection. Following on this success, Converse has announced another collab this time with Hiroshi Fujiwara. The duo introduce the new Converse X Moncler FRGMT pack.
The latest collaboration is centred on simplicity while creating a bold and detail-driven style. A mix of unique and minimalist touches abound. Converse has selected two of its most notable silhouettes from its archives: Jack Purcell and Chuck 70.
Via the Moncler Genius Project, the sneakers are viewed through a creative lens, utilising simple colour blocking and striking contrasts. This is visible through its stitching. The collection is driven through simplicity to craft bold statements through a style that’s unique, while minimalistic.
Converse X Moncler FRGMT Chuck 70
In keeping with the pack’s style statement, the Chuck 70 is bold, simple and genius. Hiroshi Fujiwara has put his spin on the iconic sneaker while keeping it sleek yet sophisticated.
This limited-edition low-top sneaker brings legends of style to converge and elevate a true sneaker icon. As such, it features a premium 12oz canvas upper, providing structure and durability. Furthermore, it has Moncler / FRGMT cobranding on foxing tape, graphics on the midsole and design logos on the heel tape.
Rounding off the design is the custom, cobranded vintage licence plate, as well as the orthoLite insole for comfort.
Converse X Moncler FRGMT Jack Purcell
Another example of bold design, this time with a subtle smile. This is the spin on the Jack Purcell sneaker.
The Jack Purcell also features a premium 12oz canvas upper, with contrasting white stitching. Further to this, it has a similar Moncler / FRGMT graphic on midsole and foxing tape.
Again, rounding off the design is a vintage Jack Purcell license plate, with the addition of a cobranded backstay.
The Converse X Moncler FRGMT is currently available online at Converse.co.za. It’s also available in Converse stores, as well as select retailers across the country.
The Chuck 70 Low retails at R2,099 while the Jack Purcell is available for R1,899.
