Fresh off the release of the Converse X JW Anderson collaboration, Converse is set to drop another collection. Having seen success from the partnership with Japanese designer, Jun Takashi, last year, the duo have joined forces yet again for the drop of the Converse x Undercover range, titled “Order Disorder”.
Jun Takahashi founded Undercover 25 years ago in 1993, a high-end streetwear label for men, women and children. The first Converse x Undercover series for the Chuck 70 Low silhouette features a mix of vivid primary tones.
Returning for the second drop, the new release is centred on the spirit of punk and infused with the hyper-aesthetic futurism of cult sci-fi movies. The look explores the order and disorder as the opposite dynamics of a near dystopian future. The range stays true to the nature of showcasing, the way of the Punk, and also emphasising on technicality and finishing.
The Chuck 70 silhouette showcases attention to detail, clarity, as well as streamlining the Sci-Fi shine. The sneakers feature a vintage canvas upper in various colourways within the pack. The shoes feature contrasting colours to each pair with the text “order” and “disorder” printed on the right and left toe caps, respectively. The look is completed by means of tonal cotton laces and a dualbranded sockliner.
The Converse X Undercover drops today, 25 October 2018, and is available at Converse Menlyn and Canal Walk. The sneakers will retail for R1,299.95.
