FILA Partner With Germán Silva For Fila Silva Trainer Drop

FILA has partnered with former Mexican long-distance runner and Brand Ambassador, Germán Silva, for the release of their latest drop, the FILA Silva Trainer. Having welcomed back Bjorn Borg and Grant Hill as Brand Ambassadors earlier this year, Silva is the latest legend to re-join the FILA family.

In his heyday, Silva achieved back-to-back victories at the New York City Marathon in 1994 and 1995. He also famously recovered from a wrong turn, at a race in 1994, and despite being 40 yards behind, still emerged victoriously. The past weekend marked the start of the celebrations of Silva’s upcoming 50th birthday by running the New York City Marathon with his son, who was racing for the first time.

As part of this new partnership, FILA has introduced an update to the Silva Trainer silhouette and also launched a FILA/Silva apparel collection for men and women. The products first debuted a couple of days ago at ComplexCon.

The Fila Silva Trainer is set to launch in South Africa in the first week of December 2018. The sneakers will retail for R2,200 and available via the stockist hotline: 011-630-4000.
