One of the most prolific custom sneaker designers of our current age, DJ Enriquez from @dope_don_designs, is at it again, turning his attention towards some of the world’s most beloved franchises, DC comics. Without playing favourites too much, Enriquez has managed to design some stunning sneakers that pay homage to the classic comic style, the superheroes that we know and love, and the Nike Dunk Sneaker. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the Green Lantern x Nike Dunk custom sneakers!

@dope_don_designs seems to love Nike Dunk sneakers, as his inspiration always stays dry with unique sneakers inspired by cartoons, movies, and comic characters. Covering everything from obscure references to well-known characters, no one is left behind.
This time, we have a beautiful representation of the character of Jon Stewart in a pair of sneakers. We know it is specifically Jon Stewart thanks to the image of the dark-skinned human who became one of the protectors of the universe in 1984. That being said, most Green Lantern suits look the same, so you could wear these in support of any of your favourite members of Green Lantern Corp or if you just like the combination of black and green.
The Green Lantern on the heel tab is subtle enough to wear to represent anything. But let’s take a detailed look at these sneakers. Starting from the bottom, we have a bright green outsole contrasted with a black midsole, starting the alternating light and dark green that makes it look like the light green is glowing, the same as the Green Lantern suits.

From there, the mudguard is a light green leather that matches the outsole, shaded at the ends with a much darker green that follows up the lace unit and lace stays. Like the outsole and midsole, contrast is brought in with a black perforated toe box leading up into the padded tongue.
Once again, the laces are bright green, matching the panelling trim around the back. The centre of the panelling is an even darker green than the shading on the front, adding a stunning gradient illusion to the sneakers. The collar and inner lining are the same dark green as the heel counter, matching the dark green trim of the tongue as well.
Finally, the Nike Swoosh logo is a combination of colours, giving it a glowing effect like you would see in comic books or graffiti, starting with white in the centre, surrounded by darker green, and finishing off with a light green.

As mentioned above, the only branding that makes this a Green Lantern sneaker is the subtle logo on the bright green heel tab, but this works in the sneakers’ favour instead of against it. The lack of branding on the sneakers makes them wearable and the perfect sneakers for anyone who loves protectors of Earth that got their powers from a piece of jewellery from outer space… (Does anyone still like Ben 10?)
