Following last week’s collab with Mercedes AMG Petronas F1, PUMA has teamed up with the founder of the Happy Art Movement, Romero Britto. The announcement sees the drop for the PUMA x BRITTO collection. The collection is set to bring artwork to life, with a colourful mix of footwear and apparel.
Britto is known for having created his own aesthetic. These are shaped by love, hope and happiness. And this is what his debut collaboration with PUMA aims to reflect. It is the optimistic view of the world through art.
PUMA has drawn inspiration from Britto’s dynamic graphics and vibrant colours. Each of the pieces is created to resemble the 90s aesthetic. This features accents of purple and orange for a bright and happy take on the classic from the PUMA archives. The collection has brought with it the goal of bringing fun, happiness and love to the world.
In the words of Britto himself, “art is too important not to share.” Further to this, he states that the collection is a reflection of the past, present and future all in one.
The PUMA x BRITTO collection features three silhouettes from the archives. This includes the RS-Connect, Basket and Wild Rider sneakers. Each of these sneakers have a fun look and feel, playing with all-over prints, along with graphic elements and bold colourways.
In addition to the sneakers, PUMA has also announced a tie-in apparel collection. This includes the AOP hoodie, AOP Tee, Sweat Pants and Tee plus a Crew and a Sweat Pants for women. The apparel features a mix of graphics, prints and even embroideries on a few pieces.
The PUMA x BRITTO collection is set to drop on 30 July 2021. It’ll be available online at PUMA.com.
