This Houston, Texas-born rapper has made waves since he started his partnership with Nike, and even more so when he went on stage with John McEnroe to officially announce the return of the Nike Mac Attack together. However, keen eyes were glued to Scott’s feet when he stepped out in a very special-looking pair of sneakers right onto the stage without announcing what he was wearing. What appeared to be a unique collaboration between Cactus Jack and the Nike Mac Attack was just that. Now we have official images of the highly anticipated Travis Scott x Nike Mac Attack sneakers.

Considering that Travis Scott seems to have a deep love for the Nike Mac Attack Tennis Shoe silhouette, it should come as no surprise that his new collaboration with the brand is a loving homage to the OG Nike Mac Attack colourway, intentionally resembling it while adding Cactus Jack flair.
Starting from the bottom, we have a light grey outsole complemented by a white midsole with some white stitching running from the midfoot area around the midsole. From there, the pair moves into a stunning and smooth grey leather on the toe section, broken with a bit of black mesh applied with the insert that runs beneath the lace unit towards the back of the sneaker.

The lace unit is a matching light grey smooth leather, perfectly matching the light grey laces and contrasting the white tongue. The woven label on the tongue reads NIKE and is another throwback to the original Nike Mac Attack sneakers.
From there, the mesh on the mid-foot section transitions to light grey, swapping with some of the leather panelling around the collar and the heel that have taken up the darker hue, representing the black in the Nike Reverse Swoosh that Travis Scott brought in as well, all with smooth leather.

The whole sneaker is relatively free of Cactus Jack branding save for the embroidering on the shoe’s spine, which is brought to life with black thread, and it’s a highly tasteful addition to the sneakers. Typically, with any Travis Scott collaboration that includes his Cactus Jack branding, you can find it almost everywhere: on the sneaker, the packaging, and especially on the outsole or the insole of the sneakers.
These sneakers are super clean, and it couldn’t be clearer that Travis Scott has immense respect for John McEnroe and his design, as he has lovingly brought it back without changing or marring the silhouette with his own additions too much.

This is usually where I have unfortunate news about no release date, but luckily for us, there is a date. While it might move around a little closer to the time, reports say that we can expect these sneakers to be released on the 2nd of December, 2023. We are still waiting to see what sizing and pricing will be expected. Still, we might only know once the sneakers are released on Nike SNKRS during the holiday season.
