The Jordan Brand isn’t the only one that gets in on the Spider-Verse magic, as Nike Dunk got in on the action, as well as these Nike Air Max Plus sneakers. While these aren’t quite as subtle as the Dunk pair, they are stunning.
The sneakers are predominantly black, with elements of the neutral shade peeking through on the entire sneaker, from the outsole to the upper, the lace unit, the tongue, the inner lining and the collar, you name it.

Of course, the thick sole still features all the usual bubble-esque transparent windows that let you see into the Air technology that makes up most of the sole. The entire sole is a perfect pitch-black, matching the mudguard, the trim, and the heel counter.

The Nike Air Max Plus’ usual segmented upper is separated by vibrant red rubber, making a soft gradient at the end to dark blue. This feature is repeated on the arch of the outsole.
The mesh of the upper after each segment makes a subtle gradient from dark blue to black, perfectly shading the sneakers to give them a comic book-esque quality without making it too obvious.
The subtle and diminutive Nike Swoosh logo has a white inner and a black border, reminiscent of the eyes on most Spidey suits. The Spider-Verse might not inspire the colourway like the Air Jordan 1 model. Still, they are a definite nod to at least two of the beloved characters of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Some elements nod to Miles Morales’ Spider-Man, but also elements that nod towards the secondary antagonist of the movie, Miguel O’Hara’s Spider-Man 2099, specifically with the dark blues and vibrant reds.
If you loved the movie but didn’t know which side you were on throughout, these are the perfect sneakers that are 100% Spider-Man inspired without being in your face about it.
These fabulous Nike Air Max Plus sneakers originally appeared in Grade School sizes for $145. Still, there were rumours of Nike making the sneakers available in larger sizes later.

The original release of these sneakers was the 26th of June, 2023, but like most hot Spider-Man sneakers, they sold out quickly. Nike blessed the sneaker community by restocking the sneakers on the 1st of August, 2023, so there is still an opportunity for you to grab this pair if you have your eye on them.
