In March this year, Puma successfully released the second season of the Puma X Trapstar collection. Now in its third season, for the AW’17 season, Puma has announced the third season of the collaboration.
Trapstar, a London-based lifestyle brand, has joined forces with Puma once again, to deliver a collection of football-inspired sportswear silhouettes, which features utilitarian detailing and a tough-as-nails attitude to streetwear. The collaboration team took inspiration from Puma’s own football archives, blending together performance gear and street-style aesthetics. The new take on football gear features a collection of apparel (jerseys and warm-up gear) as well as two sneakers with multiple colourways.
Stylings for all items features Trapstar’s trademark graphics, such as a black-and-white (or “White Noise”) speckled print, rendered in various styles. There are two silhouettes used for the sneakers in the collection, taken from the Puma archives, the Puma Clyde and the Puma Tsugi. There are two versions of the Clyde in the form of the Puma X Trapstar Clyde and the Clyde Perforated, which features the company’s logo on the side in place of the signature Puma Formstrip. For the reimagining of the Tsugi Blaze, the sneaker features a progressive look, with an upper wrapped in premium panelled leather sock construction, as well as a gothic Trapstar branding on the heel. The Tsugi also features the standard midsole, with the outsole reinforced by Puma’s Ignite cushioning tech.
Season 3 of the Puma X Trapstar collection is set to drop on Wednesday, 15 November 2017, and will be available at various Puma Select stores, X-Trend, Cop Capital, Madaiza and Shelflife. The sneakers will be available from R2,699.
