Global sports brand Puma and Amsterdam-based streetwear label Daily Paper have once again joined forces by releasing an African football-inspired range.
The latest Puma X Daily Paper collaboration pays homage to Puma’s 20-year commitment to African football, with the release of new apparel and several new classic silhouettes to accompany it. The graphics and colourways from the new range feature patterns from a bygone era in African football, reminiscent of the classic kits worn in the ’70s and ’80s by Ghana, Cameroon and Ivory Coast.
Their collaboration with Daily Paper, who’ve made their mark on the streetwear scene since 2010, showcases the cultural identity of African football with classic, tailored, rugged looks and eclectic materials. The collection includes:
Easy Rider
The Easy Rider was a definite fan-favourite back in the late ’70s, seen among various supporters. The latest iteration features a seasonal African football-inspired colours.
Easy Rider Sock
The Easy Rider Sock features an iced outsole along with the Daily Paper branding. The sneaker became an icon both on the track and on the street and has been remixed with a knitted sock, while still maintaining its old-school cool.
Roma
The Puma Roma made a return in the form of the Tomas Maier Roma 68 earlier this week and here it gets another iteration. This sneaker features a soft leather upper with Daily Paper branding on the heel.
