With recent collaborations with the likes of Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen, PUMA is set to drop yet another collab, this time with basketball legend, Ralph Sampson, having played for The Houston Rockets in the 80s and 90s. The collaboration sees the duo team up for the reissue of the iconic court silhouette, PUMA Ralph Sampson OG.
To honour the NBA Hall-of-Famer, Ralph Sampson’s legacy, PUMA has recreated a pair of retro sneakers from its archives to relaunch the OG in all its glory, a sports-inspired silhouette fitting for the streets. Having been signed by PUMA in the 80s, the pair took its basketball brand to the next level with their range of court shoes, the PUMA Ralph Sampson. PUMA created a custom-designed court silhouette, specifically for Sampson’s size 17 feet, with mid-height construction for ankle support, with a lightweight design for both speed and agility. The recreation of the silhouette sees the return of these influences, proving its fashion and street style statements for over three decades. The court offers a new generation of basketball fans both off-court style as well as on-court performances. The silhouette features a full leather upper, retaining its clean aesthetic and classic look. The sneaker will be available in a PUMA White / Gray Violet / Peacoat colourway, along with Sampson’s signature on the lateral sides.
The PUMA Ralph Sampson OG will drop on 27 April 2019 in South Africa at a retail price of R1,799, and available at PUMA stores and selected retailers across the country.
