Following on from three recent successful drops from the RS-X range, (RS-X Ferrari, RS-X Trophies and RS-X Tracks), PUMA has announced its latest RS-X collection. The RS-X Tech sees the company partner with Motorola and is inspired by its mobile phone manufacturing started in the ’80s. The collection sees two new silhouettes set to drop in May, the PUMA RS-X Tech and PUMA RS-X Tech Motorola.
PUMA RS-X TECH
The sneaker follows a strong lineup of silhouettes from the range to enhance the brand’s ongoing reinvention. Celebrating the reinvention of tech in the sneaker world and beyond, the latest reimagining of the RS-X range has been designed for the future.
The silhouette features a sleek mesh and textile upper, complete with stylish leather overlays. It is equipped with PUMA‘s proprietary RS technology on the midsole, with an embossed textile heel piece and moulded sockliner for additional comfort. The silhouette is available in a PUMA Black, Vapourous Gray and PUMA White colourway. The look is completed with RS-X and PUMA branding across the silhouette.
PUMA x MOTOROLA
Motorola has been pioneering technology and innovation for over 90 years. The company has been around for major events such as sending messages from the moon to developing the first mobile phone and continues to push the boundaries with new tech such as the first 5G-upgradable smartphone, the moto z3 with its 5G moto mod. Bringing together two cultural reinventions, one through sport and style, and the other through tech and innovation, the duo announced the nostalgia-packed collection, PUMA X Motorola.
The collection includes the PUMA RS-X Tech Motorola sneaker, which has been inspired by Motorola’s mobile phone designs, which takes design cues from its mobile phones throughout the ’80s, ’90s and 2000s. The silhouette features a mesh upper with leather overlays, which includes the “hellomoto” badging on the side and MOTO batwing placed on the translucent heel badge. The textures on the outer sole are inspired by the mobile phone’s old-school keypad. The first sneaker from the collection will be available in a PUMA Silver and Sodalite Blue colourway. The PUMA X Motorola collection is also set to include an apparel capsule.
The PUMA RS-X Tech Motorola (PUMA X Motorola) and RS-X Tech are set to drop on 4 and 15 May 2019, respectively, and will be available at PUMA SELECT stores, X-Trend and Superbalist. The RS-X Tech will retail for R1,999 with the RS-X Tech Motorola retailing for R2,499.
