With numerous offerings from the reimagined RS Computer range, PUMA has created an ecosystem of the classic silhouette. The range includes styles in the form of the RS-0, RS-100, RS-1, and RS-300, as well as a number of collaborations, including partnerships with SEGA, Polaroid, Roland and Ader Error. PUMA has now added to the RS range with the launch of the all-new RS-X silhouette.
The first sneaker to drop from the series is the RS-X Reinvention, extending the Future Retro moniker, drawing on inspiration from the past to inspire the future Sportstyle design. The new silhouette is designed for the extreme, exaggerated and remixed, well celebrating the extreme reinvention with its bulky, retro-inspired design, material mixed and bold colour palette.
The silhouette is engineered with PUMA‘s patented RS Technology on the midsole, with an elevated fit and feel. The upper is made of a mix of mesh and textile materials, which is rounded off by a moulded sockliner for added comfort. There’s also a mix of leather and suede overlays, with an embossed textile heel piece. These elements provide the right mix of style, versatility and comfort. For the first colourway, PUMA has chosen colours from its most iconic pieces in the archive, adding to the ‘extreme’ context of the drop.
The new PUMA RS-X Reinvention is set to drop this week, 1 November 2018, and will be available in leading stores worldwide. The sneaker will retail for R1,999 at PUMA SELECT, X-Trend and Madaiza stores.
Stay tuned for additional releases from the RS-X range in upcoming months, which includes collaborations with Mattel and Hot Wheels, bringing to life the most iconic toy cars reimagined in the RS-X silhouette in time for Hot Wheels’ 50th anniversary. These will also be followed by collaborations with 70s pop-culture references from television (such as Transformers), telecommunication (such as Motorola) and motoring.
