Following last week’s release of the reimagined classic, the PUMA TRC Blaze, the brand is back with another from its archives. Ahead of its release this month, the PUMA Slipstream has been announced as part of the Welcome Unbored campaign.
Underpinning the “fastest sports brand in the world” moniker, the Slipstream has been brought back to life. Based on the 80s basketball shoe, the sneaker has been remodelled for the next generation of sneakerheads. The Slipstream, while updated with modern tech, maintains its court classic look, in keeping with its roots.
35 years after its initial release for the courts, PUMA has penned the latest chapter in the saga of the Slipstream sneaker. Despite its heavy white base, the Slipstream has been revitalised in a plethora of colours within the relaunch campaign.

As for the sneaker itself, the 2022 evolution of the Slipstream combines its original basketball DNA with an undeniably clean and modern look. The upper is featured in an all-over white leather. Additionally, there are quite a number of overlay panels, with additional tooling to add a splash of detail. This also includes a remodelled collar construction and a sculpted midsole.
As part of the drop, PUMA marketing has launched the “Welcome Unbored” campaign. This follows a group of PUMA brand ambassadors from across the globe. This includes Neymar Jr, Romeo Beckham, Kingsley Coman, Danna Paola, LaMelo Ball, Pamela Reif, Armand Duplantis, Memphis Depay, Gianmarco Tamberi, Nessi, Just Riadh, Imenella and Don Strapzy.
The group of ambassadors embark on a galactic journey to reach new horizons with the PUMA Slipstream. The objective is to invite those ready to escape the old, enter the new and join them on a journey that enters the Slipstream. These protagonists depart from earth, arriving in a galaxy of new possibilities with the PUMA Slipstream.
The PUMA Slipstream will be available in-store and online at PUMA.com from 30 June 2022.
In-store locations include PUMA Select, as well as various, selected retailers across the country.
