With just a few weeks left of the 50th-anniversary year of the classic Suede, the PUMA team is set to drop another collaboration. Having inspired dreams for almost 60 years, Barbie is an icon. More than just a doll, she’s a global pop culture icon #ForAllTime, having spanned six decades and over 200 careers, proof that you can be anything, even a sneaker designer.
PUMA has partnered with Mattel on the Suede 50 campaign for the release of the PUMA x Barbie Suede 50 collection, straight out of the Dreamhouse. Everyone loves to play dress up and this new collection inspires fans to do just that in life size. The collection features two new Suede silhouettes in Raspberry Pink and Black versions, as well as kids and preschool sizes.
The first silhouette features an all-pink upper with a lush rose finish with matching pink soles, laces and collar lining. The PUMA Formstrip is decked in pink and white with the Barbie logo patter wrapping around the shoe. The heel features a pink satin bow with the same logo pattern to set it off. The second drop features an all-black suede upper, which includes a classic chic black-textured sole. The shoe is graced with a black-and-pink Barbie logo pattern on the Formstrip, which is finished off with a black-and-pink satin bow on the heel. Both sneakers bear the special PUMA and Barbie logo on the tongue. As with the other Suede 50 drops, the PUMA x Barbie Suede 50 includes a special anniversary shoe box as packaging.
