For almost four decades Puma classics, the Suede and T7 Track Jacket, have been part of the inventory for the ‘everyday style’ for many people. They continue to rock the streets and are staples in many a sneakerhead’s closet with the Superpuma range.
Puma has once again refreshed the look with the perennial styles in the company’s Classics Collection. The throwback features the return of the iconic Suede, made famous by Tommie Smith and Walt “Clyde” Frazier, both Hall of Fame entries for their respective sports. The Suede celebrates its golden year in 2018, and will no doubt be in for another classic design in celebration.
Additional updates to the collection is a capsule pack, inspired by the flashy fashion of DJ’s and B-boys from the Bronx throughout the 70s. The Superpuma pack is reminiscent of the beginnings of the Hip-hop and Funk era, which includes tapes and piping on the hem, pop-art branding, and luxe materials to round up the retro vibe. The collection includes two version of the Superpuma Suede at R1,699, available in OG glory in Red and Black colourways and boasts the Puma Cat branding on the tongues and insoles. The collection also includes the super fly styling on the Superpuma Tank, at R699, Shorts, at R799, Tee, at R599, Driver Cap in black, at R369, and the Satin Bomber, at R2,499, with its Superpuma embroidery on the back.
The collection features Puma ambassador, Big Sean, an American Rapper, Songwriter from Detriot, Michigan. Big Sean’s third studio album, Dark Sky Paradise, was released in 2015, which earned him his first Number 1 Studio Album in the US. The rapper lends his hip-hop style to the classic range
The Superpuma Classics Collection will be available starting on the 8th June 2017 at Puma Select stores in Bree Street, Cape Town, and Braamfontein, Johannesburg, as well as various Puma stores nationwide.
