PUMA has continued with their lineup of “ugly sneakers” with their third drop of the Thunder collection, which includes the Thunder Spectra and Thunder Electric. The third drop in the range, the Thunder Desert, features two new monotone colourways.
For the original launch of the Thunder range, PUMA debuted a bold colour statement in the form of the Spectra to fit the retro theme. The change for the latest Thunder Desert drop features two colourways, in the form of the Triple White and Triple Black, to represent the light and dark of the desert. Both silhouettes retain the bold signature tooling and patterns, with the blown-up proportions and material mix of premium suede, textured leather and mesh. The sneaker is inspired by 90s Cell System running silhouettes as well as the PUMA x McQueen collaboration. The style is a re-imagined pair of kicks with a bulky, unapologetic look and feel.
The new PUMA Thunder Desert is set to drop this week, 9 August 2018, and will be available for R2,299. The sneakers will be available at PUMA SELECT, PUMA Gateway, PUMA V&A Waterfront, PUMA Sandton City, PUMA Rosebank and a few selected Sportscene stores. The Triple Black colourway will be available at Shelflife.
