In 2018, PUMA dropped their Valentine Pack, which included a special edition Basket Platform for women and Breaker for men. Extending the trend of limited edition drops for the day, PUMA has released two new silhouettes in the form of the Basket Crush and Basket Crush Emboss.
The PUMA Basket Crush features a bold Hibiscus colourway atop the PUMA classic Basket silhouette. The sneaker’s standout is its unique asymmetrical lacing system, which when both left and right shoes are placed together form the shape of a heart when viewed from above. The Basket Crush was designed as a fashion-forward statement inspired by point street styling and precise detailing. The look is finished with PUMA branding on the heel with a tonal Formstripe on both sides of the upper.
The PUMA Basket Crush Emboss is a similar take on the Basket Crush, featuring an accentuated metallic foil deboss line. The silhouette features the same asymmetrical lacing system to create a pattern view of the heart. The silhouette features a metallic PUMA branding on the heel, the sneakers in PUMA White – PUMA Silver feature a tonal Formstrip on the lateral and medial side.
The PUMA Basket Crush and Emboss will both retail for R1,399. The Basket Crush will be available exclusively at PUMA stores from 8 February 2019, whereas the Emboss variant will be available at PUMA stores, Sportscene, Side Step, Superbalist and selected retailers from 1 February 2019.
