Having just announced the all-new RS-X silhouette just yesterday, PUMA has quickly followed suit with the release of their first collaboration from the new range. The sports brand has partnered with Hot Wheels, the number one selling toy in the world, who also celebrate their 50th anniversary. The collaboration brings to life the iconic Hot Wheels toy cars, reimagined in the PUMA RS-X silhouette as part of the PUMA X Hot Wheels collection.
Having been conceived in 1968 by an innovator, a rocket scientist and a car designer, Hot Wheels 1:64 scale die-cast cars were designed to look awesome and perform. The toy has undergone numerous transitions over the five decades in existence, from a simple yet beloved toy car into a global franchise, which offers fans of all ages multi-channel play experiences. The partnership with PUMA reflects both brands’ commitment to champion innovation through creative collaboration.
The new sneaker, the RS-X Toys Hot Wheels ‘Bone Shaker’, was unveiled at the SEMA Automotive Tradeshow in Las Vegas. The silhouette is based on the celebrated toy car released in 2006. The RS-X silhouette, built on the RS-0 base as part of the Running System line, features a futuristic design with retro detailing, pushing design boundaries along the way. The silhouette fuses the RS-X sneaker design with the toy cars, tying together the Hot Wheels challenger spirit with PUMA’s redefining sports style.
The PUMA RS-X Toys Hot Wheels ‘Bone Shaker’ is set to drop on South Africa shores this December. The sneaker will retail for R2,499 and will be available at PUMA Select stores.
