Puma has been collaborating quite a lot lately with big-name celebrities including rappers, style icons, and the likes. In addition, the company has also collaborated with many artists, both locally and from all over the world. This time it is with renowned US graphic artist, Naturel, for the Puma X Naturel collection.
The Puma team has taken the design of the legendary Clyde to go beyond the limits of sport style design, partnering with the charismatic approach from the creative talent, Naturel, debuting in the Autumn/Winter 17 collection. Known for his symbolism-heavy illustrations (street conscious assertions on Neo-Cubist styles), Naturel has etched his name in the upper echelon of streetwear design with his unique style. He injects references from sports, fashion, and music into his art. As is showcased by his previous art styles, his designs are not of this world.
Men are from Mars. Women are from Venus. This is precisely the undertones from the Puma X Naturel collection, where the norm is thrown out the window in pursuit of the extraordinary. The collection includes items of footwear, apparel, and accessories, which were inspired by space travel and a vision of the urban landscape of the moon, accented with military detailed styling. These designs have been added to the classic Clyde sneaker, making them street wearable art.
The first part of the collection drops today, 25th July 2017, and will be followed by the second drop in September. The range will be available at Puma Select, Shelflife, Anatomy, Al Capone, and various other selected retailers. Included in the first drop are the Clyde Veg Tan at R2,699, Platform Veg Tan Wns at R2,699, Clyde Moon Desert Wns at R2,499, and Clyde Moon Jungle at R2,499. Other items include the Tech Tee, Denim Parka, Windbreaker, Cap, Tights, and more.
