Following the PUMA x HARIBO collection earlier this month, PUMA is back with yet another collaboration. The PUMA X PRONOUNCE drop their debut collection, which features a mix of footwear, apparel and accessories to match.
The earthy palette of the collection was inspired by Pumapunku. This is an ancient archaeological site in Bolivia.
PRONOUNCE was founded in 2016 and is based in Milan and Shanghai as a high-end brand. It was founded by designers, Yushan Li and his creative partner Jun Zhou. Their brand reflects a shared love of handcrafted garments, as well as a desire to perfect the creation of truly global and genderless clothing.
The duo’s unique approach blends Eastern, Western and ancient cultures in their creations. This also includes various philosophies. These influences fit perfectly for the collaboration, a combination of ancient inspiration with modern and minimalistic design.
For the sneakers, the collection includes three classic silhouettes. This includes the Mirage Sport, the Basket Vintage and the Suede Mayu. Colours for the sneakers include Puma Black, Puma White, Pebble, Muted Grey and Vibrant Orange.
Also included is a mix of apparel. This includes the Elevated Tee, Trousers, Woven Jacket, Short-Sleeve Woven Shirt, Track Top, Pants, Lightweight Coat, Dress, Jacket, Mini Messenger and Graphic Tees. Additionally, the collection features the PNL Cap and Backpacks as tie-in accessories.
The collection has centred on Pumapunku. In ancient Incan tradition, it was believed to be the seat of global civilisation. It now stands as a remnant of a vast complex of stone temples and geometric monuments.
It’s these elements from the site that inspired the colourways across the collection. These elements are featured in the form of graphic motifs, such as ropes, pulleys and clay blocks. Finally, the bold colour blocking represents the majesty of the sunset over Pumapunku.
The PUMA x PRONOUNCE collection is already available both online at PUMA.com, as well as in selected retailers across the country.
In-store retailers include PUMA Braamfontein and PUMA V&A Waterfront, X-Trend, WE ARE EGG to name a few.
