In keeping with its first two collaborations with R H U D E, PUMA has once again partnered with the brand to release another chunky sneaker, the PUMA x R H U D E Cell King. The extended co-branded drop was inspired by motorsports and blended with R H U D E’s minimalistic design and colour palette.
Founder of the R H U D E brand in 2015, Rhuigi Villaseñor envisioned to create designs which were an infusion of effortless, minimalistic styles and streetwear. The purpose it set out to achieve was to rebel against a disciplined environment by creating clothes that express raw experiences. L.A. based streetwear brand, R H U D E, has once again partnered with PUMA to release a fresh take on a classic silhouette, reinterpreted for modern streetwear.
Make a statement with the R H U D E Cell King, taking it to the streets. The sneaker is based on the original PUMA King sneaker from 1968, which features a leather upper with football-inspired stitching and a removable tongue piece, which includes a debossed R H U D E logo. The lateral sides feature a silky suede Formstrip, as well as a vintage-style midsole, complete with the PUMA Cell technology, to round off this unique sneaker. In keeping with previous designs, the colour palette stays true to R H U D E’s aesthetics, giving a vintage yet minimalistic feel.
The PUMA x R H U D E Cell King is set to drop on 5 September 2020 and will retail for R2,799.
The sneaker will be available online at PUMA.com, as well as in stores at PUMA Select Cape Town and Braamfontein.
