Following the PUMA X Scuderia Ferrari collaboration a few weeks ago, PUMA has joined forces with New York artist and designer Sue Tsai for the release of the PUMA X Sue Tsai collection. The range features two popular women’s silhouettes in the form of the PUMA Cali and PUMA Nova. The PUMA X Sue Tsai collection features a mix of Tsai’s bold and edgy style, showcasing the crossover between art, fashion and pop culture.
Tsai’s signature style, which includes a mix of wildflowers and butterflies across various arts, stickers and designs, are prominently featured within the range, which also sees the release of various apparel. The story from this particular range, flowers gone wild, rising up to take the planet back from humanity, features vibrant colours, cherry blossoms and lotus rocket ships. The patterns are featured against a camouflage backdrop to create a contemporary collection fit to hit the streets.
The evolution of the court platform silhouette, Cali ‘Peonies Camo’ S.TSAI, features a soft leather upper, complete with military camouflage print overplayed with hand-painted feel flower graphics. Additionally, the silhouette includes a heavily textured rubber soler with moulded rubber inserts on the toe and heel, which give the shoe a chunkier look.
The second silhouette, the Nova ‘Cherry Bombs’ S.TSAI, is a sleeker fashion-forward running silhouette with soft leather and neoprene upper, with a contrasting mesh lining. The design features an intricate hand-drawn flower graphic on the upper along with bold colour blocking. The silhouette is built with a sculpted split sole design and thick outsole tread. The look is completed with round, two-tone poly laces and added heel tape with co-branded silicon print.
The PUMA X Sue Tsai collection is set to bloom at PUMA SELECT, X-Trend, Superbalist and Madaiza on 16 March 2019.
