Having previously partnered with The Hundreds, PUMA has once again joined forces for an iconic streetwear drop. The duo dropped its debut collaboration in July. The second PUMA X The Hundreds drop extends the range with a fresh take on the classics.
With sustainability in mind, the community-powered streetwear brand aims to increase awareness on environmental impact. Partnering with PUMA, who has been pursuing a zero-waste and sustainable products over the past few months, is the perfect fit. The aim is to be more conscious of the way we dress.
To achieve this, the teams used recycled and organic fabrics to create and design with functionality. Additionally, the unique materials provide the inspiration to create reversible, transformable and multi-use items. The list of recycled materials includes polyester and rubbers, organic cotton and chrome-free leathers. It also includes recycled meshes for uppers, lining and sock liners.
The PUMA X The Hundreds collection draws inspiration from the collegiate aesthetic. Continuing with its spin on classic PUMA sneakers, the collection features three silhouettes. This includes the Performer (R2,299), the Future Rider (R1,999) and RS-2K (R2,299) sneakers.
The Performer has a rich history in the realms of tennis. The reimagined silhouette features bold colours with recycled materials across the upper. In addition, the detailing includes a mix of mesh and nylon elements. This ties in with the neoprene and synthetic overlays, a colour-blocked outsole.
The PUMA X The Hundreds drop features apparel such as a Chore Jacket (R2,999), Chino Pants (R2,299), Reversible Hoodie (R1,899), Reversible Shorts (R1,299) and Tee (R949).
The list of accessories includes a Convertible Bag (R999) that transforms from a shopper into a crossbody bag. The Cap (R399) can be folded into an integrated pouch.
