PUMA and Abel Tesfaye, better known to many as The Weeknd, have officially announced their second season of the PUMA X XO collection for the upcoming Spring-Summer 18 season. After the much-anticipated first drop launched in 2017, the collection was soon followed with a second drop later that year.
Cultured travel meets bespoke premium design for the latest PUMA collab with international artist, and PUMA’s creative collaborator and global brand ambassador, The Weeknd. Following first PUMA XO collection, including the PUMA XO Parallel shoe which was sold out in stores worldwide, the second season of PUMA XO is inspired by The Weeknd’s travels to different corners of the world. The range incorporates rich colours, premium materials and handcrafted pieces – an unexpected, beautiful mashup of cultural influences from East to West. Past meets present and modern streetwear meets timeless, athletic aesthetics.
This, the first drop from the second season, takes cues from the “Tibetan Tribe” design concept. The collection features a street take on ethnical inspiration with Tibetan graphics, which is incorporated with military elements, and premium materials for both the new silhouette and apparel.
The Parallel 2.0 is constructed from a soft suede upper, which includes smooth leather overlays, providing a fresh new look and heavy duty feel. The military look and design of the Parallel 2.0 features a mid-cut sneaker boot with a gusset tongue construction, hiking eyelets and heavy ripstop materials. This is combined with a stacked gum midsole, standout blocked heel design, extended Formstripe and co-branded labels.
The PUMA X XO Parallel 2.0 is set to drop on 14 April 2018 in PUMA Black, and will be available at PUMA Select and PUMA stores (at V&A, Sandton, Rosebank and Gateway), as well as X-Trend stores. The new silhouette will retail for R2,999. Additional drops from the range is set to drop in the coming months, so stay tuned for more information.
