It’s true that some of the most memorable moments in entertainment tend to involve a clash of giants. As much as we love a good “David vs Goliath” fight, nothing is quite as engaging as a Kong vs Godzilla or throwing it back to Street Fighter ‘94 and that classic Zangief against E-Honda showdown. Every once in a while two giants of industry shake hands and come together for the greater good. That’s what we have on our hands with the recent release of the Reebok x DC Comics Good vs Evil Superhero Collection. Warner Bros. teams up with Reebok to bring us this ultimate clash of good and evil and now it’s time for you to choose a side.

There’s no better place to kick it off than arguably the most iconic Superhero in the DC-verse and the entire comic book superhero world. Superman is an institution, no two ways about it. Ask any Tom, Dick or Harry to list their all-time top 5 superheroes and I’m willing to bet that 9 out of 10 times you’ll hear the name Superman mentioned. On this iteration, we get a design that pairs perfectly with the 1992 Shaq Attaq, including the now iconic Pump technology. It’s unfortunate that we only have a few sneakers in the collection available so far on these shores. The Superman Shaq Attaq is not currently available for purchase.
The Batman LX220 silhouette is a brave and combative running shoe that perfectly encapsulates the essence of Batman. The Joker dons the tennis-inspired Club C 85 while his partner in life and crime, the inimitable Harley Quinn graces the Freestyle Hi.
Superman Shaq Attaq

A legend for a legend is the theme here, as one of the greatest superheroes ever teams up with one of the best hoopers of all time. Shaq x Superman is a match made in fandom heaven and does not disappoint. Featuring some translucent touches that pay homage to the Man of Steel’s x-ray vision, red, blue and yellow accents in a nod to the classic costume and the icy soles that hearken to the fortress of solitude and of course, his icy cold breath.
Batman LX220

From the reflective Bat symbol on the tongue to the foam moulded synthetics and battle-ready distressed armour on the uppers, the LX220 accurately embodies the batsuit and even the batmobile.
Joker Club C 85

The Joker Club C 85 is perhaps my favourite of the lot with the classic Joker purple, the tear-away upper fabrics representing the Joker’s multi-layered personality and the legendary laughter plastered all over the inners. A sweet little “easter egg” can be found in the removable calling card hidden in the tongue.
Wonder Woman Nano X2

The Nano X2 is adorned in the fabled Wonder Woman armour. The upper integrates reflective light, creating an effect reminiscent of Wonder Woman’s deflective bracelets. Various leather and metallic accents also show off more of her legendary suit design and the extra set of reflective laces gives off Lasso of truth vibes. Love it!
Harley Quinn Freestyle Hi

The somewhat adorable, sometimes gullible and always extremely chaotic Harley Quinn gives us perhaps the most unique sneaker of the collection. One of the most legendary female silhouettes Reebok has ever given us is the perfect foil for this one. This Freestyle Hi incorporates the perfect collection of graphics that just perfectly encapsulates the sweet girl next door with the queen of Chaos That Harley Quinn is. The bleeding heel, unmissable outfit colours and the iconic heart tattoo can all be found on the well-thought-out silhouette.
Lex Luthor Workout Plus

“Never be caught dead without kryptonite.” I feel like this should be Lex’s motto and it’s caught perfectly in the Workout Plus’ glowing outsoles. The cracked, glow-in-the-dark upper completes the look, giving the wearer that untouchable Lex Luthor demeanour. All you need in life is a bank account with too many zeroes to count and pockets full of kryptonite.
Good vs Evil: Choose Wisely
An all-around fantastic offering from Reebok and Warner Bros. is topped off with an awesome set of t-shirts and hoodies that either complete the set or work great as stand-alone pieces. I know which side I’m on, which side will you choose?
The Reebok x DC Good vs Evil is not yet readily available in South African stores, as well as heading over to reebok.com to get your hands on some of this awesome collection.
