Reebok is no stranger to collaborations and partnerships with both big brands and artists both locally and internationally over the years. Most recently there have been a few that have caught the eye. From the Reebok x Looney Tunes, Reebok x Ghostbusters and Reebok x Cardi B collections on the international front to the more locally based, Reebok x Serati Pride collection. This time around the brand has partnered with Konami for the Reebok x Street Fighter collection.
As part of the celebration of its 30th anniversary, the duo are bringing a classic video game to life – Street Fighter! As a result, there are nine unique silhouettes in the collection. These have been divided into different groups by form and function. Reebok has taken some classic silhouettes we are all mostly familiar with and reimagined them in Konami Street Fighter style to, in my opinion, great success.

The Reebok x Street Fighter Collection

Having debuted last month, this latest Reebok collaboration has not disappointed. It ranks up there with some of top collaborations of 2022 – a great way to close out the year. Here’s a look at the Reebok collaboration with Konami’s much-loved video game classic:
- Classic Slide – general Street Fighter theme
- Nano X2 – inspired by Street Fighter’s training mode
- Club C 85 – Ryu theme
- Classic Leather – Chun-Li theme
- LX2200 – Cammy theme
- Furylite 95 – Akuma theme
- Instapump Fury 95 – Zangief theme
- Zig Kinetica 2.5 – Dhalsim theme
- Shaq Attaq – Street Fighter II: Champion Edition theme
The first of the sneakers are the Street Fighter Classic Slide and Street Fighter Nano X2. These showcase general Street Fighter theme and tips its hat to the game’s classic training screen. Added to this is the Street Fighter Club C 85 pays homage to the video’s most famed hero, Ryu, displaying nods to his iconic headband and gloves. Drawing on inspiration from Chun Li’s classic outfit is the Street Fighter Classic Leather, giving us an instant classic. The Street Fighter LX2200 is perhaps one of the most understated sneakers in the line but make no mistake, the military-themed nod to Cammy is a true beaut.
The Street Fighter Furylite 95 is probably my favourite silhouette. It rocks the unmissable Akuma outfit in mostly charcoal and red. With its custom moulded tongue, bold colours, and design, the Street Fighter Instapump Fury 95 is bold and in your face in a never back down like stance, much like its themed character Zangief. The skull dubrae and stretch line design on the Street Fighter Zig Kinetica 2.5 could only be reminiscent of our favourite mystic fighter, Dhalsim. Lastly, representing the Street Fighter II: Champion Edition is the Street Fighter Shaq Attaq.

Additionally to the sneaker collection, the Reebok x Street Fighter range also includes a mix of apparel and accessories. This includes hoodies, tees, shorts and bags.
No matter what your taste, the Reebok x Street Fighter range is broad and diverse enough to cover a wide array of tastes and preferences. You’ll likely find at least one sneaker you like, if not a few. My top three in no particular order consist of the Street Fighter Furylite 95, the Street Fighter Classic Leather and the Street Fighter Club C 85 because, I mean, Ryu. A notable mention and shoutout to the Street Fighter LX2200.
Unfortunately, the Reebok x Street Fighter collection won’t be making its way to South Africa just yet. However, you can shop direct from the US international store.
