2022 saw adidas push the limits of its performance range, offering a great mix of options for runners. Starting the year off strongly with the Ultraboost 22, the brand quickly followed it up with the likes of the Adizero Adios Pro 3 and 4DFWD 2 and rounded off the year with the Solarglide 5 and Adizero SL ranges. Fast-forward to 2023, and it has again hit the ground running with the all-new adidas Ultraboost Light.

The release of the Ultraboost Light is a historical moment for adidas. This latest member to the most iconic running shoe franchise is the lightest ever produced. As a testament to the brand’s commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, as well as drawing on feedback from the everyday consumer, the new Light BOOST technology has been introduced.
The Light BOOST forms the core of the running shoe, as with its predecessors. Now celebrating a decade since the first introduction of the BOOST technology, the Ultraboost Light weighs in at 30% lighter BOOST material. As a result, it produces an improved running design, offering energy return, cushioning and unrivalled comfort.
Additionally, there are various other components that add to the Ultraboost Light’s impressive redesign and performance gains. Firstly, there’s the redesigned Linear Energy Point – or LEP. This is found on the sole of the shoe, which has been reworked to optimise responsiveness in every stride. It works in harmony with the Light BOOST material for maximum performance.
Next is the PRIMEKNIT+ upper. Featured in many previous adidas running shoes in the past, it offers an adapted fit for runners. Additionally, it supports great breathability while also adding a level of comfort for your feet.
Furthermore, adidas’ partnership with Continental continues with the Ultraboost Light. The natural performance Continental rubber provides balanced traction in all weather conditions and underfoot stability. Lastly, as another commitment to improvement, adidas has reduced the carbon footprint of the new Ultraboost Light by 10% over previous iterations.

In terms of the design, the Ultraboost Light will be released in three colourways. The first of these features a White upper, which includes Solar Red and Core-Black detailing. Additionally, there’s also the completely Solar Red colourway, which stands out from the pack. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the third colourway features a Black and White upper, a nod to the first-ever release.
