Jordan Brand is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 5 silhouette with a series of exciting releases, ranging from the return of classics like the “Grape” and “Fire Red” (Black Tongue) to special edition colourways like the “35th Anniversary” and metallic silver “Wings” pairs. Of course, there are several desirable collaborations to mark the occasion as well, including an Awake NY x Air Jordan 5 partnership. While we’ve already seen teasers of the collaboration’s “Arctic Pink” colourway, pictures of the “Racer Blue” pair have now surfaced online—and they certainly have a more versatile look.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
Unlike its louder—but still extremely desirable—”Arctic” Pink” counterpart, the “Racer Blue” pair provides a more subdued version of the collaboration while retaining the characteristic Awake NY elements.
The design sports black tumbled leather uppers with blue accents on the inner lining, lace locks, branding elements, and shark teeth detailing on the midsole. The pair also has white contrast stitching and reflective silver tongues, which add flair to the overall look.
However, as previously stated, you get the same characteristic Awake NY features, like the “A”-shaped side netting, “NY” on the hindfoot, and co-branding on the tongue. While the “Arctic Pink” pair is all play, the “Racer Blue” design means serious business.
Awake NY x Air Jordan 5 Release Details
The collaboration’s “Black/Racer Blue” colourway is set to release on August 30, 2025. The sneaker will retail for $210 USD at Awake NY, Nike SNKRS, and select retailers.
