New Balance has made a name for itself for being good-quality designer sneakers that are a tad more affordable than some others on the market at the moment, but that doesn’t mean that they compromise on style. Recently, Creative Director at New Balance, Teddy Santis, has been remastering some of their OG designs to bring the 90s-infused aesthetic into modern fashion. Bringing the New Balance 650 a second half-life, New Balance has announced its latest colour palette with “Canyon” accents. Curious? Keep reading!

New Balance 650 “Canyon”
The latest design for the New Balance 650 “Canyon” is bringing back the OG-inspired colour-blocking aesthetic of the 90s in style. In true retro fashion, the new design maintains the typical two-toned colour-blocking aesthetic with a few peaks of grey. Still, most of the sneaker is dominated by stark, bright white. The bright white is clearly the dominant colour, as seen by its prominence on the toebox, the upper, the midsole, the laces, and even coming up the eyelets and the tongue label.
New Balance enjoys its heavily padded and perforated leather for the sneaker’s upper, which is illuminated by the contrast of the golden yellow hue of the “Canyon” colourway. The spots of colour and contrast draw your attention to the mesh heel. Finally, the “Canyon” colour makes the 650 branding at the forefoot and the padded mid-foot “N” logo pop, making it clear that this is a New Balance sneaker.
The outsole is a lovely combination of “Canyon’s” golden yellow/orangey hues and the same grey that features on select upper accents, with a little hint of white bleeding from the midsole into the tread.
