It’s no secret that Nike has been looking forward to 2024 for a while now, with more of their beautiful sneakers being leaked and official images being shared for what we can expect next year. One of the highly-anticipated pairs, especially since 2023 became the year of pink thanks to Barbie, is these Nike Air Max 1 “Think Pink” sneakers.

Tinker Hatfield’s revolutionary design, the Nike Air Max 1, has been a fan favourite since the silhouette’s inception. While 2023 was the year of pink, 2024 appears to be gearing up to be the year of Air Max 1, as the brand has already shared their plans for making over the “Sport Royal Big Bubble” look as well. Clearly, as these sneakers are showing us, that doesn’t mean that pink isn’t creeping through and surviving into 2024, especially since it is perfect for spring.
The latest pair of Nike Air Max 1 sneakers tells fans to “Think Pink” again with its combination of hot pink, soft pink, and stark white, creating a perfect Barbie look that will gladly carry you into 2024.

Starting from the bottom, the waffle-patterned traction of the Air Max 1 is fully represented in a combination of hot pink and stark white that intertwines around the ball of the foot, helping you step into 2024 with style and some spring and pastel flair.

The midsole has conveniently been kept plain white, a brilliant decision that ties in with the ball of the tread and the base of the upper and allows the clear window into the visible air unit that the silhouette is known for to shine through. This pair’s appearance appears to have been constructed out of the same hot pink as the outsole, darkly peering through the transparent bubble.
Hot pink is the first thing that you see looking up from the midsole, encompassing the mudguard, which, on the Air Max 1 silhouette, basically encompasses the whole bottom part of the sneaker, wrapping from the front of the medial side all the way around the lateral side and ending at the heel of the medial side once again. The hot pink also makes up the diminutive Nike Swoosh on the profile of the sneaker as well as the upper-most plastic eyelets. The hot pink also makes up the inner lining and the branding on the tongue label.

Speaking of the tongue, the upper base of the sneaker is entirely a stark white, predominantly a beautiful mesh, setting the stage perfectly for the pastel and hot pink of the rest of the sneakers. Speaking of pastel pink, the last colour makes up the rest of the panelling of the upper in smooth leather, making up the area below the laces, the quarter of the sneakers, wrapping around the upper lace stays and making up the spine.

Official images are in, so we won’t have to wait too long to see this pair on nike.com and possibly related retailers. Some sources say that we can expect these during the holiday season of 2023, but most suggest that this pair will be reserved as a spring look for 2024.
While it seems this pair is being kept as a kid’s exclusive for now, only time will tell whether the style is brought out in adult sizing. Still, the different sizing options should be priced at around $100 and $140, respectively, if Nike does decide to grace adult wardrobes with this colourway.

Would you wear these Nike Air Max 1 “Think Pink” sneakers if made in adult sizing, or are you 100% adding them to your kid’s collection?
