Travis Scott has had a prolific partnership with Nike since first signing with them in the summer of 2018, releasing many successful and well-loved colourways throughout their partnership. Luckily for us, their partnership seems to be the gift that just keeps giving, and we could be looking forward to a new Phantom colourway for Travis Scott x Nike Air Force 1 sneakers.

Not Just Another “Black Phantom”

If you are a sneakerhead, I know what you might be thinking. “Didn’t Travis Scott already drop a pair of ‘Phantom’ sneakers with Nike?” and technically speaking, you wouldn’t be wrong.
Sometimes known as just “Phantom” but technically called “Black Phantom”, Travis Scott and Nike worked together to bring their beloved consumers a pair of Air Jordan 1 Low sneakers in a stunning black colourway.
Keeping the design relatively simple and letting the sneakers speak for themselves, with a defining feature of decorative stitching on each part of the panelling in a light grey, and even around the reverse Swoosh that marks Travis Scott sneakers.
Despite having a similar name, this next pair of sneakers has nothing in common with the Nike Air Jordan 1 Low. As Obi-Wan Kenobi would say, “These are not the shoes you are looking for”.

Another Beautiful Colourway

The Travis Scott x Nike Air Force 1 “Phantom” images on the @pluggedinn.io Instagram page depict a stunning pair of pitch-black Nike Air Force 1 sneaker.
Like the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Travis Scott,” released in white with a silver metallic swoosh on the side, the “Phantom” pair shares a similar silhouette that is entirely blacked out.
From tip to toe, the sneakers are entirely black save for the gum outsole, which has the etching on the side, shared with many Nike Air Force sneakers.
The Swoosh on this pair is a metallic black-almost-gun-metal colour that protrudes from the side. Interestingly, a detail shared with the white pair released previously, the metallic Swoosh, is not reversed, a feature that Travis Scott’s sneakers usually (but not necessarily always) have.
While there is no confirmation on a release date or pricing, @pluggedinn.io mentions that the pair will drop sometime later this year, so keep a lookout for official images and a release date later in the year if the rumours are true.

TL;DR
- Travis Scott might be dropping a new pair of sneakers with Nike later this year.
- The next pair of Nike x Travis Scott sneakers might be a stunning dark pair of Nike Air Force 1 sneaker in a black “Phantom” colourway.
- While the name might right a few bells, this isn’t just a remake of the Nike Air Jordan 1 “Black Phantom” sneakers, but are a perfect duo to Travis Scott’s previously released white Nike Air Force 1 sneaker.
