A short while back, Vans partnered with Pro Skater Lizzie Armanto for the release of the Vans Slip-On Pro and Sk8-Hi Pro silhouettes. Vans continues its Pro Skate collection partnering with Anthony Van Engelen to drop the Vans AVE Pro sneaker.
In order to celebrate Vans’ global team rider Van Engelen’s career, the design team has honoured him by presenting a brand-new footwear and apparel collection.
The Pro Skater was directly involved in the sneaker’s design, featuring Vans’ UltimateWaffle cupsole silhouette. For AVE, good enough isn’t good enough. As such, he was involved in every detail of the design process, through innovative research, design and wear testing to create the perfect shoe for his namesake.
The new silhouette features a premium suede upper with mesh panelling. For enhanced reinforcement, the sneaker includes the Duracap™ underlays in high abrasion areas and RapidWeld™ no-sew technology. The latter uses heat-fused upper panels for an extremely strong bond, which is more durable, flexible and lighter than the conventional stitching. For a better fit, the LuxLiner™ technology is featured on the tongue and internal lining to make it more snug.
The standout feature on the AVE Pro is the all-new UltimateWaffle outsole, which features an internal shank to keep flex in the forefoot. This makes it great to absorb impact for the best cushioning with a full-length Ultracush midsole.
The Vans AVE Pro continues to build on the skater’s enduring legacy, standing as the most uncompromising, technically advanced skate shoe Vans has ever made. In addition to this, the new range also features an apparel collection with a mix of hardwearing and classic styles.
The Vans AVE Pro is available as of this week at various outlets as well as online at Vans.com/Ave.
