Following their latest collaboration with skater brand Antihero, the Vans skate team are back with the latest drop, extending their partnership with world-renowned Pro Skater Lizzie Armanto for the duo’s first official release. The collection features two updated silhouettes, in the form of the Vans Slip-On Pro and Sk8-Hi Pro silhouettes.
The design of the silhouettes has been inspired by the super blooms of Spring (northern hemisphere), which is exploding with eye-catching and colourful flowers. It’s only fitting, then, that the latest Vans drop features these blossoms in a new lavender pack featuring the two silhouettes from their archives. The collection has been made for women to feel comfortable and boldly push through their barriers and struggles, mixing Lizzie’s vibrant aesthetic and passion for skateboarding. Both silhouettes feature a premium canvas and suede uppers, emboldened by Lizzie’s endorsed colourway.
The colourway also reveals a reflective checkerboard detailing on the foxing stripe, which binds the shoes together. The sneakers are enhanced by means of innovative performance features, which includes the UltraCuch HD sockliners that provide the ultimate in resilient cushioning and comfort. In addition to this, both the Vans Slip-On Pro and Vans Sk8-Hi Pro sneakers also feature the Duracap-reinforced underlays in the high wear and tear areas for premium durability and consistent fit. The design is rounded off with an added rubber ollie pad for increased protection.
During her travels to Asia, Lizzie was captivated by the traditional Japanese “Maneki-neko” cat, which is a symbol of good luck. This has been the inspiration for the drop, which has been incorporated in this collection. The personalised design is completed with Lizzie’s initials embroidered onto the heel counter. The Vans X Lizzie Armanto collection is available in Vans and various other retail stores now.
