Vans has produced a number of strong partnerships in recent months, which reached fever-pitch with the notable launch of the Vans X Marvel range last month. In their latest collaboration, Vans has teamed up with renowned skate icon, Tony Trujillo, for the Vans X TNT Advanced Prototype collection.
The TNT Advanced Prototype is emphasised by Tony’s tenacious DIY attitude, which puts it in a class of its own. The sneaker was engineered with Vans’ UltraCush Lite 3D footbeds, Duracap-reinforced uppers, along with a brand new waffle-tread pattern designed to extend durability and grip over time, and maximize boardfeel. The classic waffle-tread pattern has evolved to provide more ground contact for an immediate, broken-in feel. This makes the TNT the most progressive vulcanized skateboarding shoe to date. The Vans signature style is built on the most advanced Ultracush Lite 3D footbeds, which blends the lightweight and responsive feel of UltraCush with a dual-density foam. This is further enhanced with a molded heel clip for unsurpassed cushioning, boardfeel, and support. There is also additional rubber reinforcements across the quarter panel and vamp, which addresses sensitive wear and tear areas for tough skateboarders.
The Vans TNT Advanced Prototype is a celebration of more than 20 years partnered with Tony Trujillo. With style and aggression unique to his name, Trujillo has laid the foundation for park terrain skateboarding, and is the true embodiment of “Skate and Destroy.” The collection is set to drop globally this Saturday, 14 July 2018. The sneaker will be available at local Vans stores and various independent retailers, in expanded unisex sizes, ranging from US6 -13.
The TNT Advanced Prototype collection will be complemented by matching apparel, which features a lightweight anorak jacket, a long sleeve tee with battle axe graphics, and a classic beanie. For more details on the apparel, and additional imagery, check it out on Instagram.
